since becoming mrs. lam

  • I eat fish and mushrooms and pickled vegetables!
  • I do about 4X as much laundry -- no joke. I used to do it once a month, but now I have to do it every week. Boo.
  • I have all but forgotten how to drive.
  • I have my own personal GPS navigator and bug zapper!
  • I don't have to wear sweatpants and fleece clothes to sleep anymore, because I have my own personal heater!
  • I've become more irritable, needy and clingy.
  • I have become immune to the smell of farts.
  • I've stopped taking care of my finances.
  • Other than my youth group girls, I hang out exclusively with guys.
  • Insurance, taxes, and gas expenses are lower!
  • I cook less. :D

So I guess I've changed a bit -- some bad, some good... but most days I am glad we got married. Hahaha.

    change

Marriage has been interesting so far. I feel like we were pretty well prepared for it -- throughout our relationship, we didn't just put our best foot forward. We were well aware of the other person's shortcomings before we said "I do." So I already knew that Tony was a lazy bum, and he already knew that I was a control freak. We've had a few major fights (one in which I threw a bottle of lotion at him), but we're slowly learning how to choose our battles, compromise, and be more patient with one another. It really is true that men marry thinking she'll never change, and women marry thinking he'll change... and both are wrong! God has been teaching me not to be so critical, and to love Tony for who he is, farts and all.

    bwho to blam! :)

Even though tonyandbev.com started as our wedding website, we've decided to keep it and make it into the Lam fam blog. We'll be posting random musings about married life, youth ministry, our travel adventures, and whatever else God throws our way. (And for the record -- NO, there are no buns in the oven yet! The oven isn't even pre-heated yet! You'll know when a tiny third sheep appears at the top. Muahaa.) Hopefully this time I won't be the only one contributing to this blog (ahem, Tony?). :P

So I've been a Lam for over half a year now. I miss being a Ho, but being a Lam has its benefits. Aren't sheep adorable?! I plan to make t-shirts with little lambs on them for our youth group kiddies someday. :) So far, my name has been misspelled ("Beverly Lamb") on a major presentation at work just once. And, I'm not gonna lie, I love writing cursive Ls. :) Yes, I'm a nerd.
