the alien grows
Hellooooo, third trimester! We had another ultrasound yesterday to check on my placenta, which unfortunately has not moved. Right now it's sitting right next to the cervix opening, which might be a problem during delivery. Worst-case scenario: if the opening is blocked, I'd have to get a c-section. But we're praying it will move up and away as the uterus expands during the third trimester!
But one perk was that we got to take another sneak peek at the little alien! They even did a 3D sonogram, which was awesome. We could see the HAIRS on his head already! I was very amazed, because my mom tells me that when I was born, I had no hair so the nurses stuck a Christmas bow on my bald little head. Maybe he'll actually have hair! :D I'm crossing my fingers that he gets Tony's nose. And height.
He now weighs 2 lb 13 oz, which is in the 63rd percentile, so he's right on track! This means he already weighs more at 28 weeks than his cousin Philip did when he was born (at 30 weeks)! Craziness.
The little alien has been very busy in his watery home, writhing and kicking and stretching and punching. It's been harder to sleep lately, although the preggle pillow helps a little (THANKS, LINDA!). I guess he has grown to where he is pressing even more on my sciatic nerve, so sometimes I walk like an old lady. It makes me mad that I can't lift stuff around the house. How am I supposed to get the nursery ready? We have done nothing to that room except buy the paint. Haha.
We're very thankful for all the friends and family who have given us their hand-me-downs! I've been really feeling the love lately. Rachelle, Janelle, and Jen are throwing us a baby shower in a couple weeks, which I can't wait for! My parents are even coming into town that weekend. And I was surprised to see stuff from our registries already disappearing! So blessed. The little alien thanks you.

awww, alien lam is "so big" already! great! today we prayed for alien lam (we called him baby lam, but we'll make the correction in our future prayers). praying that it will be an easy delivery and that alien lam will be more fun than lip was when he was a baby. haha. can't wait to meet him!
bauer and lipstick
you guys got some GREAT shots :D!! we did a 3d with julia and the first time around she refused to let us see her face -- both hands were firmly planted in front! we did a 2nd session (they were nice enough to let us come back for a quick redo) and she put down one of her hands so we finally got a few good pics :). it's so funny how much they actually look like their ultrasounds...there's one shot where if you look at julia from the same angle, it's really similar :)!
haha tony's nose? i like your nose. this is such a good image of your baby!
Cool! 3D shots! I never got them done but always thought they were very cool. :)
I can't believe you're in your last trimester already! It's so good to hear that your little guy is on track and growing. I pray your placenta moves so you'll have a chance for a natural birth!
the new technology really let us know more what would/may happen in the future. Amazing.
yay a little boy!!!! i'm soo happy for you bev (and tony). i'm sure he'll love the sonagram pictures when he gets older and is going through his teenage years. you can bust them out then. i hope your placenta moves (? i don't really know what's going on) but i'll be praying for you and baby lam!
