thanks for praying!

just wanted to say THANKS for praying for mina, and keep praying, please! :)  we know that God hears our prayers.  here's an update on how she's doing...

mina seems to be doing OK right now.  she started chemo almost immediately after her diagnosis, and it was working for a while.  thank the Lord that the cancer hadn't spread to her central nervous system/brain!  the doctors stopped her chemo treatments for a while because she had some complications with abdominal gas or something, but i think they're starting it up again.  her white blood cell count got low, so she can't leave her hospital room for a while because her immune system is weak, but they're hoping she can be discharged from the hospital in the next week or two.

when we went to visit her last night, she talked for an hour straight, so she seems to be in very good spirits!  she's gotten to know so many of the hospital staff, and she said she loves the st. louis children's hospital.  the hospital provides a lot of arts and crafts activities for her to do, they provide her a loaned laptop, and she likes to write in her journal and watch TV.  she misses school and can't wait to go back home, although she's scared that something might happen when she's at home when the doctors aren't there.  before we left, we were able to pray with mina and encourage her not to be afraid.  either her mom and grandma stay with her at all times.  however, it's putting a lot of strain on the family, especially with her two younger siblings who need to be taken care of, too.  so please pray for the whole family, that they will find strength to go on, peace in God, hope for the future, and be able to care for all 3 kids and make ends meet.

and of course, pray that mina will continue to heal and get better so the cancer goes into remission.

THANK YOU! :)  God is good, all the time.
